"Twisted Tails" Launch Done Up in Style

Although I had no idea what to expect, I would have to say that yesterday's launch for "Wild Wolf's Twisted Tails" was a brilliant success, and was duly celebrated in a grand style.

Cheers from Rod and Tony at Station Central at Newcastle on Tyne, and from all the rest of us 'Lovely Wolfites'.

"Angus Breaks Free" Now Out In FreeFall Magazine

Just a quick note to let you know that my author's copies of FreeFall magazine (including my story "Angus Breaks Free" p 61) arrived in the mail today. Due to the contract I won't be allowed to post my story on this blog until mid-August, so if you can't wait that long (and let's face it, who can?) I'll leave you the link so that you can contact FreeFall and get a copy of your very own.

"The Adventures of Charlie Smithers" - Soon In Paperback!!

I received an email from Sam this morning, informing me that, due to his solid showing this quarter, Charlie Smithers will be coming out in paperback sometime over the summer - possibly July or August! You know what this means, don't you? Those of you without Kindles will no longer have an excuse not the opportunity to purchase a copy, and I, at long last, will finally be able to hold the actual book in my hands (a dream I've had, like, since forever!) So you see it's a win-win situation!

Thank you Wild Wolf.

And from the bottom of my heart, thank all of you (you know who you are) for the support that's made this possible.

The Cover For Wild Wolf's Twisted Tails

After a false start for the cover of Wild Wolf's Twisted Tails (that I thought was pretty darn good, by the way) Peter Fussey, quite literally, went back to the drawing board, and came up with this. What can I say, he's done it again. It's even better.

I shouldn't forget to mention that two of my stories are included in this collection: "Freedom's Wings" and "Cooking Without Onions". Keep your eye on this site, I'll be sure to let you know the moment it's released.

Whoops! Not So Official After All!!

STOP THE PRESS!!! There's been a last minute change: the cover art and title for Wild Wolf's collection of shorts is going to be different than advertised. Instead of "Darkness and Despair - A Wild Wolf Anthology", the new title will be, "Wild Wolf's Twisted Tails" (I believe that the pun is intended). Cover art TBA.

PS: I've decided to leave the previous post with the original idea, as I've grown rather fond of it.

Preliminary Artwork For 'Darkness and Despair'

I finished writing late tonight, as I wanted to finish the chapter. It's going not too bad, if I do say so myself!

So anyway, when I finished writing, I clicked onto my email, and this was the first thing I found - a message from Peter Fussey with a preliminary sketch for the cover art of Wild Wolf's collection of short stories, 'Darkness and Despair'.

This is always an exciting moment!

In fact it's been a good day all around. The results from Charlie's second quarter are in, and I didn't think they were all that bad, either. Thank you!

Charlie's Now On Goodreads

I just found out, via a good friend of mine, that The Adventures of Charlie Smithers is now on Goodreads. The Adventures of Charlie Smithers

It's great news, of course, although it does seem an odd way of finding out. I must have missed the memo from my publisher, and wouldn't you know that this all happened on a Friday night, so my hastily sent query won't be answered until Monday.

I spent a good deal of this morning dusting off my profile, and bringing it up to date - I hadn't touched it since I joined in 2010, and haven't visited often since then, as time is a precious commodity these days.

Another thing: there's no cover art for Charlie. Must ask Sam about that, too.

Last but not least, Charlie's page is like a bare room desperately in need of furnishings. You know what that means, don't you? That's right! HE DESPERATELY NEEDS REVIEWS!! (hint! hint!)

Alison Rocks!! - A Charlie Smithers Review

This morning I finished CW Lovatt's book. His story and the two main characters I think will stay with me for the rest of my life. Books come and go and the stories fade with time. The characters blend with others and I get them muddled in my brain. I do not think I will ever forget Charlie, Loiyan and their adventure together.
CW Lovatt, you have written an amazing story. I would swear you lived it out yourself it is so vivid. I would say more about how it affected me but am afraid I'd give away too much. Thank you for a roller coaster read. Up down and all around. It was really quite an experience. (If I didn't make it clear yet, I loved it!)
